Inspired by rums naval history, this strength carries a special significance. Rum was once stored in wooden barrels together with gunpowder below decks on ships. In case the rum barrels started leaking and soaking into the gunpowder, the alcohol content had to be at least 57% as anything below this would mean that the gunpowder would not burn. This navy strength spiced rum is created with a blend of rums from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, and is infused with notes of vanilla, cinnamon and aromatic tonka bean.
